I'm soooooo happy that Spa-Francorchamps is on the calendar again this year, although the organisation has a lot of money problems.

Spa here I come

Now that's a good idea :P

Nooo we will go together and leave the site behind for 4 days  Or we have to find a hotel with wireless internet so I can take my Laptop to write live-reports

We'll see...it's still a very long time to go till 17 September! :(

I also heard about the promoter having money troubles. It would be a great shame to lose one of the few true driver circuits left on the calendar. What's the political situation in Belgium, is there anyway the government can help?

Whatever you do, try to get press accreditation. I really think that both of your universities should provide some help with accreditation authorities since the site you’re running is not commercial and it has educational purpose when it matters technology, design etc. So, try pulling some strings and than report to us from paddock!
Just beware of Flavio

BTW, I'd rather see season without Malaysia, Bahrain, Turkey and Shangai if that could provide enough funds for Spa promoters.

Well, the Walloon governement already pays money to help organise the Grand Prix, but now they want the credit for it. They want to call it the Walloon GP and not the Belgian GP. You have to know that Belgium has 2 parts, one where they speak Dutch, Flanders (where I'm from) and one where they speak French, Walloon (where Spa is). We have one governement of Belgium but beside that we also have the Flemish and the Walloon governement. It's very complicated in Belgium.
But anyway...I don't think that the Belgian GP will recieve more money form the government, although Spa-Francorchamps is very important for the people who live near Spa. The year that Spa was excluded from the Formula One season, because of problems with tabacco advertisements, the people of Spa felt it, not so much income as other years, when there was a Grand Prix and a lot of people in the hotels, restaurants, .... in the area of Spa-Francorchamps.
I hope that people get their brains back and realise that the Belgian Grand Prix is important for our country and for Formula One.

And I really want to go because it would be my first live GP!!!!

Manchild...our universities will not provide help, I'm sure of that. I study to become a social worker, they don't care about F1!
But Tomba and I will try to get access to the paddock.
And I'm not affraid of Flavio :P . If he comes near, it's time for an interview and to get closer to Fernando :P

It is sad if no one won’t show understanding for effort you two put into development and maintaining of site that has so many members from around the globe where all of these people exchange their views and share knowledge and experience about what is undoubtedly greatest laboratory involving almost all areas of human creation from mechanics, technology, aerodynamics, chemistry, design etc.

Isn't that among also sort of task with humanistic, cosmopolitan and social aspect?

I’m writing all this because I’m fed up with seeing paddock filled with bimbos without a clue whether F1 has engine at front or back and people like you two with mission that directly promotes F1 can’t get press accreditation.

Couple of months ago when I bought the tickets, I booked my hotel room in advance, hoping to get a good rate. And I did. I booked rooms for 3 different weekends. Of course, it turns out that Canadian GP doesn't fall on either one of those 3 weekends. My luck...Fortunately, though, I just booked it for that weekend, and I got the same rate. My suggestion to those who plan to go to the race next year, book the room now before the hotels either get over-booked, or their owners black out those dates.

Thats not fair!! i come frm malaysia and we enjoy going to the race. not everyone is fortunate enough to travel to europe to watch f1. I agree it will be a shame if SPA is not in the calender but there are some european rounds that can give way to countries around the world. I think Each country can only host 1 race and italy and germany has to give up 1 race.

hehe… I had no idea that you’re from Malaysia. But why wasting words when it will be considered that I knew that all the time. Anyway, I just said what I'd rather see, nothing else. I agree that Germany and Italy should have one race each.

Monaco, Spa and Monza have to be in F1 calendar as long as F1 will continue to exist because without any of them F1 is crippled. I’d say the same for Silverstone but British GP was also held on several different circuits.

I think that Bernie and FIA should think about preservation of F1 heritage and invest some money in maintaining legendary circuits in calendar.

Historically, F1 came out of Europe, and many traditions still remain. But the world is changing, and Formula One truly is a global sport, just like soccer. I'm very, very happy that not only do we have a Canadian GP, but also a Canadian driver (well, let's see if BMW wants JV). Countries like Malaysia have just as much right to a GP, and I do agree that having two events in Germany, and two in Italy is inappropriate. Yea, one is named the European GP, and the other San Marino, but in all honesty, they are second races for a nation.
Anyways, I will be at the Canadian GP in June. :D

anyway . i feel barcalona, monaco, silverstone, spa and suzuka should be permenant in the f1 calendar. now with so many other countries frm the likes of india, argentina, south africa want to take part in f1 they should be more strict with the older tracks and make sure they are up to standard. or not they should give way to these new tracks
