Maybe Kimi is going to Ferrari? Or have Mclaren decided Montoya is not delivering?

I was thinking the smae thing about Kimi....maybe the rumours about Kimi going to Ferrari in 2007 are true?
Silence is golden when you don't know a good answer.

Ron Dennis has covered one base, probably thinking that there is a good chance the Kimi will go to Ferrari. If he doesn't, then RD can choose from three of the best drivers in the World.

I'd call it smart........... 8)

As for Alonso, perhaps he senses that McLaren is moving up and Renault are moving down. I guess he doesn't think Newey leaving will make a big difference then?

I think it's stupid of Fernando to make this decision before the start of the 2006 season... he still had plenty of time...If McLaren really wants him now, a couple of months won't change that.
But that's my idea.

Well, one thing to remember is that Renault's CEO (Ghosn) is famously not too keen on the cost of F1, who knows if Renault will be racing as a team even a year from now. McLaren, like Williams - exist to race.

The F1 silly season starts now..........does anyone think that Webber may be eased towards Renault soon?

I think that it is very possibly for Renault to withdraw from F1 together with Michelin at the end of 2006. Perhaps Alonso knows that and acts accordingly.

I haven’t heard any such gossips but it is something logical to me having in mind Michelin withdrawal and policy FIA continues to insist on.

Renault has nothing left to prove to anyone in motorsport. Having in mind troubling times that will follow after 2006 and 2008, perhaps the wisest thing to do is not to invest into something turbulent, pull back, polish your trophies and wait for the situation to clear out. Investing millions in the middle of war with FIA would be stupid.

It's a gossip because the new Renault boss doesn't really think F1 is usefull for the company...so he wants to save money by not entering the F1

He said that before Renault won both titles. He should check the 2005 and especially 2006 sales and I bet he'll change his opinion. Now that the titles are won company can afford to say that staying in F1 is a waste of money since all Renault dealers shops worldwide will be decorated with photos of championship car that beat Mercedes, BMW, Fiat, Honda, Toyota…

If I was head of Renault I’d switch to 2 wheels and enter Moto GP.

Remember how JPM did the same thing. It turned out to be his best decision, yet!

If Renault stays in F1 beyond 2006 than I'd like to see Nicolas Lapierre insted of Alonso.

Sure, but Fisi will retire after 2006 so that will leave place for 2 new drivers.
