Well the problem is that the Walloon governement has to do improval works on the circuit, the pitts...and they don't find the money for it, to do it before the summer. And without the works, Bernie doesn't want the GP to go on...so problems.
The only thing that's for sure is that the GP has a contract for 5 years, starting in 2007. So no problem for 2007 but the 2006 GP will be off probably... I HATE IT! I was going to go for the first time in my life to a GP and now
At least you won't get the opportunity to get screwed over like we did in the States. I was supposed to go to that fated day but my college graduation was on the same date.

FIA deny claims that Belgian race is off
By Kevin Garside

Formula One's ruling body, the FIA, dismissed reports last night claiming the 2006 Belgian Grand Prix had been cancelled.
A Belgian local government minister fuelled speculation about the future of the race, claiming that Bernie Ecclestone, the Formula One commercial rights holder, had pulled out of a deal to save the cash-strapped grand prix at Spa Francorchamps.
Ecclestone, perhaps significantly, was unavailable for comment yesterday and the FIA said they were not taking the claims seriously.
In Belgium, the regional Walloon government, which lent the now bankrupt promoters £10 million towards the cost of last year's race, have been negotiating with Ecclestone to secure the event. Only last week he spoke of his desire to see the race go ahead as scheduled on Sept 17.
The issue, as ever in F1, is cash. The going rate for the promotional rights to host a grand prix in Europe is £12 million. The Belgian government had hoped that Ecclestone would assume the role of promoter, which he had indicated he would be prepared to do.

I agree 100%. Goodwood 2006 and French GP 2006 (100 years since 1st GP celebration) will be greatest motorsport gatherings and displays ever!
For example, Renault announced that they'll roll out all of their racing cars starting with Voiturette to R26. Seeing AK90CV side by side with R26 must be unforgettable experience!
I suppose the other manufacturers including the privateers will do the same.
Anyone with info about how much Goodwood experience costs (tickets, logging, etc.)
I have been a few times, it's a very special event. So many great cars and they REALLY DO RACE THEM
Of course, there is so much more than just the racing too......
Well, since everyone dress up historically http://www.goodwood.co.uk/2004/mcrm/thelook.htm, me as the '80s fan could go in green flash, 501, polo shirt and those "blues brothers" ray-ban sunglasses?

I was supposed to demo my car with other Alpines at the World Series Donnington, but managed to have a slight accident Hopefully I'll make it this year.
Anyway back OT
It sounds like it's too early to say if it's off - sounds more like another pissing competition with Bernie right now.
He- he, very good. It seems that each circuit has to make annual safety changes. Not to mention the pit complex being short of a garage for Super Aguri. All of this they say they cannot afford.
