Narian is a good prospect for the future, certainly from a commercial point of view. His first season with Jordan was a baptism of fire which managed to deal with. Personally I think it was too soon for him to enter but hopefully he has learnt a lot from his 2005. A test drive at Williams is a great thing for him. He will learn a lot from Alex Wurz.
If he can take on board all his experiences so far, learn from his mistakes and use the testing role to get consistent, then he has every chance to do well.
I wish him and his Indian fans all the best. :D
It's great to see another country involved in F1. No doubt soon enough there will be a Indian team also.

Its hard to analyse a driver just upon experiance in a Jordan and upon what you hear from the media. Hes obviously damn good otherwise he wouldn't be in F1.... You may argue that performance can be measured against team mate, but where is he in respect to everyone else? Also the driving is half, maybe 2/3rds the story, the other is the technical side. Good drivers can activly help with setups and give clear, consice accurate feedback - i dont know if how good Nahrain is at this.

To cut a long post short, who knows???!

Great news! You are in the best place to learn a bit about how it's done. Which area are you interested in?

Will F1 even be around in 10-15 years?

Like Takuma, Narain is the key to a large untapped market. To have those large sponsors is always an advantage especially when your cultural background isnt traditionally a breeding ground for racers like Europe. Its kept Narain in the playing field and I hope he gets another race sit in the future. These race-to-test-to-race game plans have proven well for the likes of Fernando, Massa to hone their technical and driving skills. I'm sure Narain will learn a lot this year.

Personally I would have loved to see a Webber/Wurz combo (Come on! Wurz deserves a race seat. Come on!) with Narain and Rosberg sharing the friday duties. But come what may, Rosberg will do well.

I agree Wurz really does deserve a drivers seat for that matter even de la rosa should get a drive coz both of them are simply spectacular drivers

I read this week that he was in line for the second Super Aguri seat. He is going to test alongside Yuji Ide because they are unsure of Ide's fitness and pace.

I think Narain is a very good driver...but not great. He's no Kimi or Fernando. And I doubt he will ever be good enough for a race seat in a top 2 (maybe even 3) team.

BUT that said, it I was running Midland, STR, or even Toyota I'd jump at the chance to hire Narain. Midland & STR because they need a quick but cheepish driver, and Toyota because with narain I know I'd be getting better value for my money than Ralfie!!!

He's obviously very quick, but he is ALSO obviously a bit too keen to impress and becomes irratic. His time as a tester for a team like Williams will hopefully settle him, and I'd like to see him as a regular on the grind in a couple years time.
