Aeromobil 3.0

Post

Another attempt for a car that flyes or a plane that can be driven at roads...

I find curious that the take-off speed is 130km/h while the min flying speed is 60km/h... maybe too little AOA while on ground?

I don´t think this sort of aircraft will be ever succesfull, as it´s a flying aircraft so it demands a pilot licence, so it rule out any massive use (at least while a completely safe and autonomous flying operation is achieved), and people with a pilot licence will probably prefer driving a normal car to the airport and fly with a normal plane

Anycase interesting, I love any weird invention and this is the most beautiful I´ve see to date :D

Problems:

-you need a flying license
-the wing span is too wide to start on a regular road (also 130km/h at take-off is not what makes officers smile)
-you need a airport to get airborne. If you have to drive to a airport to take-off you could as well take a aeroplane!?
-just imagine ever jerk could fly...

Looks like it is too long and wide in car mode.
Dimensions? Anyone?

You're right about the airport.
An helicopter/car transformer would be better.

Thanks for the video langwadt, but James May is actually saying the same I said, but with the usual sensationalism from TG

I´ve never considered I need 3 licences/certificates to drive my car, but with that reasoning I need a driving licence, a medical certificate, and I have to registrate my car. 3 for driving a car and 8 for driving and flying an aerocar (7 if you´re not from US) does not seem crazy to me

Anycase he said nothing new to what I said on the opening post, you need a pilot licence so they will never be for massive use

Until full autonomous flying is achieved, and we´re not that far

I posted a link on first post with the specs

2,24 wide
6m long

Big that´s sure, but I guess at this stage size is not a big concern

OTOH the range numbers are pretty good in both modes, wich had usually been a problem for this sort of vehicles

Why motorcycle tyres?

Well, s'pose they could use space saver spare tyres, but don't they have a speed rating issue..

How compliant safety-wise would it be - having that sword-like prop sticking out like that?

Maybe an issue with inclines/drive way/ramp access with the prop oriented compass-wise - as shown?
