My personnal favorite is the lockheed SR71, blackbird,
(http://www.sr-71.org/blackbird/sr-71/)

but the Tomcat is up there too. I didn't realise that any squadrons still flew them, but it will be a shame to see them go.
I've never seen TG, have heard its good.

Its funny how F1 nuts are usually aircraft anoraks aswell.

Well the blackbird is not a fighter and basically not a very useful aircraft, except for spying operations.

As of military aircraft favourites, my choice goes to the fenomenal Sukhoi Su-27 Flanker

I've seen that aircraft on an airshow and it's pure power.

First rent "Top Gun" and after that rent "Hot Shots", don't ask me why just do it

I mean, rent them at same time just watch them in that order :)

That SU27 looks like a cross between an F15 and F16!

Good call on the Hot Shots, manchild :D

My mum and sister argue that there are not enough fights in F1 and that it is not very useful, but that doesn't stop 1661 people loving it.

I love going to airshows and a couple of guys will turn up in a volvo with a thundering great RR Merlin on a trailer behind, they'll start it up and no one will care about the planes anymore.

Yes, Spitfire was amazing. If we talk about WWII than I'd mention also Mustang P51 which ended up war with same engine as Spitfire, Focke Wolf 190 (early versions with BMW engine, not Jumo) and Messerschmitt 109 as my favorite (best looking) airplanes from that period of history.

ummm... I don't really like Yak, Zero was nice but a bit "fat" and Mosquito was bomber while I was mentioning fighters only

Forgot to mention Lightning P38

Ok I know, I was just coming up with all I could think of from the other parties in WW2, I also have a model of a lightning, matt black for night raids.

Good war and aviation movies. "633 Squadron", "The Dambusters", "Battle of Britain", "Reach For the Sky", and "The War Lover". Steve McQueen should have won an oscar for his role in that movie.
Aircraft? I love dozens, especially the F-104, Supermarine Spitfire. But what could be done by Pugachev in an Su-27 still makes some shake their heads.
