Awesome! I think it's amazing to see the difference in the machined surfaces (or lack thereof) from an old engine like this to a modern day engine.

I have heard of
  • glasses of water, scud missiles and launcher, dogs and even my dads one and only book, 'The Findhorn Railway' sold on e-bay
Incidently the book originally cost £2.20 but the last bid I saw was £2.80.

We should be getting royalties :!:

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Think about it, that Bugatti engine has the cylinders and head as one solid, machined piece of metal. No cylinder and separate heads, no chance of blowing a head gasket, because there isn't one. A bitch to machine and service (imagine changine or resurfacing the valve seats), expensive as can be, but truly amazing engineering by one of the greats of automotive engineering.
Bugatti was a total freaking mechanical genius. Period. The more you study his designs, the more you get absolutely blown away. If you look at the Type 59 rear suspension, you may realize it has built in passive rear wheel steering.

There is a very good reason why "Bugatti" is a respected and hallowed name in the history of motor racing.
