VW's 1.0L 3cyl. 270bhp engine

All in the title, VW announced a 3 cylinders engine, only 1 liter, but 270bhp with electric turbocharger. I wonder how long it will take them to make it reliable enough for road use! Very impressive.

The production unit they use currently in the golf provides 115 bhp

It´s announced as a production engine? Or as a special edition for some racing series?

The ford 1.0 3cyl is currently up to 140 BHP in a production engine.

Apparently the ford 1.0 has reliability issues beyond about 40,000 miles though, regardless of its output which ranges from 100 I think.
