Question about steering

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

I think knuckles refer to the (knuckle) juint connecting the hub to the lower suspension wishbone. They must allow the hub to turn whilst not coming loose, usually using a ball or cone joint.

However I can see no advantage to be gained in these components.

in the production car there are huge potential gain to be had as most suspension components are mounted on rubber bushing instead of spherical ball joint/rod ends. As they are tuned for NVH requirement first and foremost....And results in a lot of handling complience....

actually I think steering knuckle is the actual joint that connects the tierod(trackrod) to the upright. And what I said before still applies.

The easiest way to figure out what a steering nuckle is, is by crawling under a solid front axle four wheel drive vehicle. Tracing your steps from the steering box:

Steering box
To Drag Link
To Passenger Side Steering Nuckle
To Tie Rod
To Driver Side Steering Nuckle

Kind like this for a right hand drive truck looking from the front.

(Disregard the periods (.) you cannot just space it out with the space bar, the message board format will not allow it)
