Just got f1 2015 or ps4 and I must say the game looks beautiful and handles great but codemasters left one crucial element out. NO CAREER MODE, I don't know what brain fart codemasters had when thinking of leaving this element out but it has ruined what is a fantastic game. I got it home and put it on and did a quick race first just to get the jist of the feel and was like "yep this is going to be awesome, now lets start a career" and to my shock horror, there isn't one. There is always one thing codemasters always leave out or fall short on when releasing these games.
Yeah its a big loss but has been known about for months. It plays well, handling feels more 2010 than 2014 to me. I can understand the approach Codemasters have taken with leaving things out, its a whole new engine with all new assets built from the ground up so wanted to get the foundations right but at the same time, they skipped PS4 and XB1 last season, they had plenty of time to get everything done. As always with this series, next year will be the year
We still kind of have "career mode", we just cant use our own names any more which is not really a loss. Even though it had our names on the timing screens the drivers names were still on the car and overalls. It's all the damn licencing agreements which stop Codemasters from actually creating a great game, where we can actually do character customisation and actually create a proper career as yourself, design your own helmet and actually contain multiple seasons. I am waiting for an F1 game from 2005 to 2015 where you have all the cars and all the tracks where you have a career instead of playing the same season over and over again. and i am still getting over the fact that there was no MP4/4 and Senna in classic F1 because of the licencing agreements.

F1 Challenge 99-02 (F1 Career Challenge on console) was a great game with it allowing you to move between teams and the teams changing each year to reflect the actual changes.
Would be great if Codemasters did a 2010 through to 14 or 15 game that worked in the same way
Not sure I'm bothered. True career mode in F1 is difficult if not impossible with strict licensing guidelines from FOM. I'll miss the custom helmets and my name in the results, that's about it.
I haven't played an F1 game since 2011, so I'm going to get this for my PS4. Anyone want to add me so we can have some races that aren't driven like Mario Kart?
On the whole, I'm impressed with the game. Handles well on my PC, looks very nice, and is generally rather fun. It isn't without fault though, for some reason, they've greyed out Advanced Wheel Settings in the settings menu, so with my Xbox 360 controller, I cannot set a steering deadzone, which means that I have spun out in a DRS zone because of the slightest twitch in the joystick (a little bit like Nasr in Canada FP3 I suppose)
2 more weeks of waiting here for it, and i cant wait!
my first f1 game was 2014, and from the looks and sounds of things, 2015 should be a real big improvment.
from what i've read, codemasters said that 2014 was basicly like marrusia using the 2014 car this year, where they basicly used all the 2013 coding, in order to have the extra resources to dedicate to 2015.
hopfully they will use the DLC system to keep the cars and whatnot updated thruout the rest of the season.

They put no effort at all into 2014, saw a video on YouTube that compared the Codemasters games and F1 2011 was a lot better looking, surprised they didn't get more trouble for producing such a rubbish game.

the gameplay is really bad in all codemasters f1 games compared to rfactor which came out a decade ago...we still use rfactor in our online f1 championship.
codemasters f1 games are arcady and just graphics
I'm annoyed with Codemasters, they always let themselves down! They either say something and don't deliver, drop a feature or 2, ie- no safety car or career mode or they piss about like they did last year and half arsed brought out the 2014 game in the out of date console generation! They even delayed this years release!
I'm not ruling out not buying the game but I'm sure as he'll not paying full price for it, I stupidly did that last year.

Codies haven't done a decent F1 game since 2010, the servers are weak and general popularity dies off too quickly to have fun and more importantly they are now competing against AC and pCARS for the more mainstream market (On PC at least anyway).
can someone tell me if this is worth more than a tenner on Steam?
