Page size (number of posts per page)

Hi there,
is it possible to enable a feature whereby a user could set a large number of posts per page?

The current functionality (at least, as far as I've found) doesn't permit more than a few posts per page, which means that it's impossible to load a lot of comments from a thread at once.

The use-case I'd like to have this feature for is aeroplane rides, where I'd like to essentially cache a large portion of a thread, so I can read it all without any further requirement for bandwidth.

The thread I tend to read is the Honda Engine thread, which gets a lot of posts per day.

I understand if the reason this isn't available is bandwidth or site software related - but thought a query was in order.
