New accounts barely possible

Hi everyone, i've been busy for over 3 hours getting an account set up.
There are a few major flaws in the current registration page and even worse trying to contact steven through the contact form is a disaster too.

I tried to contact steven through the email but no reply as of yet.
I've tried for hours getting an account, but i'm sure others just will give up.
The contact form has the image vertification but that one is broken, it never accepts your code no matter what you try.
Regarding the registration page, i had to try many different user names and they all failed without proper explaination.
Please fix this, as currently the website is not really friendly for new users.
Also, i've had to use a 10 minutes disposable mail to get it going!
