Next season, no one can run a third car. This is going to have a big impact on many. For teams that had the luxury, they will now have to use the two race cars for data gathering. For the teams (like Ferrari) this levels the playing field, taking away from their competitors a huge advantage.
All the f1 news websites say they are going to have testing on friday's before saturday and sunday gp's.
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

The FIA says that having third cars limits the amount of time fans can see regular race drivers on track.
As usual, the FIA cuts off its nose to spite its face. What good is seeing regular drivers on the track on Fridays when come Sunday the races aren't as competitive?

This is a fantastic idea in my opinion. (was mooted by Flav about six months ago.) Testing should be limited to the Friday before a G.P. Not only would this keep costs manageable but it would give the spectator a full weekend spectacle.

Sure sounds like it. But if the Friday testing rumours are true then it is starting to look a bit better.
