Ferrari circa 1989

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Does anyone know the patent(s) involved in Ferrari's sequential gerbox, I'm more interested in the racing version introduced by John Barnard. Patents aside if anyone has any little known info on the transmission that would help (the papers due in a week  )

I'd be interested to know:

As far as I remember, this was not actually a sequential box in the sense of using a motorcycle type drum mechanism.

It was a paddle shift that operated actuators, moving a fairly conventional selector mechanism.

I suppose it was sequential in that you went through the cogs sequentially unlike a gate shift manual where you can skip a couple if wanted.
