I expect the design of Dallara IR-27 car will majorly based on Formula 1 2022 aerodynamics generational except the airbox.

Ironically, the current F1 regs are very CART based, circa mid-late 1990s, when viewed from below.theriusDR3 wrote: ↑13 Mar 2024, 03:21IndyCar Series 2026 season will be final season for Dallara DW12 UAK18 subgeneration chassis car which has been required since 2012 season and from 2027 season onwards all new IndyCar Series car will be used until 2032 and thus Dallara DW12 will expected to retire after 2026 season (if no subject to change).

Let’s make a car that people talk about outside of IndyCar,” said Meyer Shank Racing co-owner Michael Shank. “Let’s up the game. Let’s turn up it a notch with something that really brings people back to IndyCar. Design-wise, let’s get it out there, visually, because we’re all in the same car. Let’s make a car that’s appealing.
“My heart that loves IndyCar racing wants a clean sheet (design), right? Because ultimately, that’s what we really need. We need every tool we can to draw new people in, and I think a new car, a really wild concept, is important in how we get there. Think about what Adrian Newey came up with a couple years ago with that X1 car. Maybe it’s not exactly that, but that’s where we should be thinking.”
Dale Coyne Racing owner Dale Coyne shares in Shank’s assessment.
This would look better, but maybe add a front wingTeamKoolGreen wrote: ↑13 Dec 2024, 18:40I agree with this take. Make the cars look insane. The windscreen could have this X1 car look. The egress could be the same as the cars have now. Just an opening from the top. It doesn't need to have fenders but even the cars now, have end plates that look like the beginning of fenders. Just something a little bigger than what we have now.
