After Audi officially bought Sauber and becoming Audi Sport F1 Team from 2026 season onwards, Haas F1 Team is now officially a true Scuderia Ferrari satellite team like Williams as Mercedes true satellite team as well as Visa Cash App RB F1 Team as Red Bull true satellite team. Ferrari satellite backing will help Haas to resurgence and back to mid-table team.

Is there anything within the FIA rules that define a "satellite team"? Isn't this just a label created and applied by observers of F1?

I think that all links to other teams e.g. Ferrari/Haas and RBR/Spike.Visa and associations such as MercedesBenz and Williams need to scrutinised on a race by race basis for any 'collaboration' around events as we have seen in the past with Singapore 2008 -Renault and others. Any hint of connivance should be hit with a one race ban for both teams.
This draconian penalty would hopefully make sure that there are no repeats of the Singapore events! If one race ban happens and it happens again then a five race ban, then a one year ban.
I am sure there will be screams of horror but that anything less than a really heavy penalty is not a deterrent.
