Even if the teams get their downforce-drag tradeoff correct with their wing levels, areas likely to bleed laptime :
- T1-2-3
- T6-7-8
- T14-15-16

I have no reason to think Mercedes will excel or that McLaren will struggle - all cars are vastly different w.r.t 2024, and any of the top three teams could be on pole and win. I expect Ferrari to struggle (in race atleast, as never say never with LeClerc in Q) , as the SF25 no longer has the 'traction out of slow corners' ace up it's sleeve that SF24 did.

I think we all know who's clearly winning this race. It'll be 12c for every session. Low grip track with heavy braking zones.

I think the temperature is the same for every one. This point is overrated.

Especially if we look at the McLaren. Coldest weekend so far this season was Australia...not far away from what we will see now and except for the last Inter stint they were untouchable all weekend.

The sole question is who will find a setup that works.

Las Vegas is ~600 meters above sea level. Comparable circuits are Austria at 700 meters, and Interlagos at 800 meters.

Russell and Mercedes have been very quick at Vegas from the jump and I don't see that changing this year. Picking a winner is a different story...

Mickey Mouse and his friends are heading to Las Vegas! Formula 1 and new partner Disney have announced that they will officially launch their collaboration during the Las Vegas Grand Prix, including a spectacular show in front of the famous Bellagio fountains.
Mickey Mouse, the American media conglomerate's most famous character, will star in what promises to be a "unique performance."

The two parties aim to jointly offer new experiences, content, and merchandise to fans. The official launch of the collaboration, called "Fuel the Magic," will take place in Las Vegas. Disney characters Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, and Pluto will be present during the race weekend in the American desert city.
The premier class will also launch new merchandise in collaboration with Disney.
The collaboration will kick off spectacularly with a show in front of the Bellagio fountains, featuring the famous Disney mouse. The various characters will also be present in the pit lane during the Grand Prix weekend.

Just so refreshing to see an almost fully painted car! What a horrible era it’s been in recent years with the bare carbon.

Onto Vegas …anyone know if car ride heights are significantly more conservative here with bumps and drain covers etc to contend with?

How much human tastes can differ !!

I think this 'holographic' livery with the yellow-red of the racing bulls is one of the worst liveries I have seen on a car (perhaps surpassed only by the neon-green sauber).

To me, the best liveries in recent memory are :

Min pressures 28F and 26R , for 2024 this was 27F and 24.5R. This is not too far below typical road/street car tyre pressures.

I guess the idea is to blow them upto make them feel like concrete to the drivers, indirectly prompting suspensions to be even stiffer than last year and thus cause more graining on the rears than 2024 on a fundamentally low-grip fine grain track ; thereby manipulating teams to lean towards a 2-stop race ; which might bring in the S (C5) as a race option for the first 10 laps or so. All this, on top of Pirelli declaring that the core construction of the 2025 tyre is more robust/strong than that of 2024.

With track temps for the entire weekend not likely to cross the early teens, we can almost be sure that there will be lots of complaints about sliding rears on the H (C3).

I am sure the excuse that Pirelli have for frankenstein levels of tyre pressures is : "2025 cars generate more load".
