Battery Charging under SC and VSC

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Something occurred to me whilst watching the race this morning, can they superclip whilst under VSC or SC??

No need, I think? They can charge at part throuttle everywhere, I think, so they'll max up the 4 MJ window of the SoC quickly anyways.

Pretty sure they're charging the entire time whilst under VSC/safety car. Verstappen's race engineer would remind him at the end of every VSC period to turn recharge off (same as the previous hybrid PU's) and to use the overtake immediately once VSC ends.
