It's been nearly 10 years already since last time Indonesian companies became sponsors in the F1 car courtesy of Rio Haryanto's presence in Manor Racing Formula 1 when Pertamina and Kiky were Rio Haryanto's personal major backers back in 2016.
While in MotoGP since 2010-now Indonesian sponsors always present and later since 2022 and 2024 the Indonesian presence became stronger thanks to massive sponsorship in Gresini and VR46 teams.
The two MotoGP teams heavily sponsored by more Indonesian companies.
What's wrong with Indonesian companies that deemed afraid of Formula 1 sponsorship investment despite F1 popularity resurgence in Indonesia?
Meanwhile Malaysia has Petronas for long time since 1995 later Visit Malaysia in 1997 and also massive Malaysian sponsorships in Minardi team back in 2002.
