Ferrari Technical preparation for Monza

Post

Hi guys ,
I got this from this guys - 'sllai' for another f1technical forum
Source :- F1 Total ( german )

Monza is the homeland of the Tifosi and the large price of Italy can for Ferrari the zweischneidigen sword become. It is natural for the team without doubt the season highlight to come as double world champions to Italy. The team is proper admired by the Italian fans. Before a few years was still completely differently, there showed the fans their discontent with the competitive power of the team by horn and mockery, which resounded from direction of spectator ranks toward Ferrari box.

In this year the rejoicing calls will outweigh like already in the last years and with the electrifying tendency will want the fans Ferrari to a further victory to float. However Monza is a course, on that more inclined to go can than perhaps on every other racing course in the calendar.

Special wings for Monza

The ' Autodromo di Monza ' is fast and required for little drift, who become cars from this reason with a aerodynamics package to disengage, which will find only in Monza in this season use. While the chassis will remain the same, the front and tail wing are developed particularly for the course.

Hard on the engine

After the changes in Hockenheim Monza is the hardest engine distance with 71 per cent full power portion, so that the engines are mechanically more loaded than on every other distance. With Ferrari the test stand is aligned to get over a distance in Monza. If the ten-cylinder packs this, then it should survive also on all other racing courses. In principle the engines got over already thousands rounds in Monza and one hope that the Simulation will be confirmed on the distance.

More HP for the Qualifying

Ferrari confirms that one becomes in Monza with a new engine journeys, which was developed particularly for the Qualifying. In the week before running it was tested and in the Saturday afternoon in the Qualifying will probably be used. One speaks of an increased output of 15 HP, which is to bring the total output scarcely to the 900 bhp.

Brakes as delicate topic

Cause for the concern also the brakes give to engineers in Monza. They rate Monza now as at least just as hard, if not even still harder to the brakes as the Canada Grand Prix. This is connected with the fact that the tires can offer more adhesion and brake the drivers even still later thus.

The cars of Ferrari will be equipped by Brembo for this reason with the largest brake disks, which are permitted and which become engineers constantly the wear and the temperatures on the monitors to supervise. If the wear within a critical range moves, a radiogram is enough to the driver that it is to turn on it a little more calmly, so that in running a disaster can be prevented later.

Two-stop strategy of security to love

Because of the fast straight lines and the extreme brakings from 340 km/h out into the first chicanery, Monza loads also the tires very strongly and blisters as well as durability problems can a topic be. For this reason a two-stop strategy can be also regarding the brakes a safety decision, even if the choice is between and two stops knappe a decision.

Compromise in the case of transmission translation necessarily

Even the transmission translation must be probably considered in Monza, in order to find the correct balance between a high sieved course for high maximum speeds on the straight line and a sufficiently low first course for a good start. All this shows that a victory can be compiled in Monza sometimes hard as on other distances this season

...sadly enough
these days you don't miss a thing if you cannot watch the race.

Ferrari will even break the recordscoring MP4/4 with 199 pts in one season, having Senna and Prost battle for the title..
I still think, no matter who the record holds some weeks after today, that the Senna-Prost McLarens had more standing that this F2002. These both drivers don't even battle for first place!
