I voted GPL because it's so darn realistic and hard, and considering it came out in 1998, is still pretty good.
Not on the list I still have a fond place in my heart for NASCAR Season 2003 because I have done hundreds of fierce online races with it. I sure miss all the great stuff that came out of Papyrus.
Worthy mention EA's F1 2002. GTR came directly out of F1 2002, and has spawned it's own family.
I wish I had GPL, but you have to pay close to a hundred US dollars to get it cause everybody else wants it. Also, I hear it can be pretty had to get it to work on modern systems.

GTR 2, Is good, Played that alot, mainly around Spa. Its just got a little bit more to it than GTR. The Best f1 game is still GP4 in my opinion. Wish the people who did GTR made an f1 game.
On the Xbox 360, PGR3 is good fun, and it looks great, i am trying to get a picture of my DB9 i took in there. It looks sooo good
I believe in the chain of command, Its the chain I use to beat you till you do what i want!!!
for my GPL was my first ever sim and it was the one that hooked me. I still play it to refresh that memories. Nowadays I discovered rFactor, the game looks good and so plays good and plus you'll have all mods you can think from present to past F1 seasons, LMS, IRL or whatever you think about, also great online playing so i've chosen it.
In xmas is comming F1'79 the best present you can have
Combined with the logitech GT Force wheel, it's still the most enjoyable out there. F1-99 is the worse for me (sorry Venom), I turned down all the details etc and it's still very laggy.

I have an AMD64 4800 X2 with an ATI 1900XT running the current XP and it rocks.

GT3 is quite good. My best is a 50.6 at Midway. Where are you on that?
I *loaned* my PS2 to my sister, who then moved houses and now it's somewhere in her jungle of boxes. So sorry, I forgot. Midfield's not my favorite track btw, Grand Valley is.
I finished the game 100%, meaning winning all races and getting all gold licenses. I have no life, I know.
Evil Weasel wrote:Gp4 - althougg the orginal games is based on the 2001 F1 season there are multiple mods for moe recent years (up to 2006) and the the past. All free.
Same for me I can't beleive how the game play is fantastic yet it is a 5 year old game that with the 2006 mods blows most new games out of the water graphiclly as well
In terms of physics and gameplay, Live for Speed absolutely dominates all of the above. GPL would have to come in second. GTR, GTR2, GP4, and F1Challenge feel downright arcadish in comparison.
I highly recommend that everyone tries the demo...
LFS is really good, although I only have the demo. It is a real challenge to do a perfect lap.
The most modern bought game I own is still Race Driver, a classic, although I have demos galore.
Oddly one of my favorites is by a group called Pysonges, it's only called 'Formula 1' and it was for windows 95 so graphics etc are terrible, the damage system is hopeless and the AI is non-existant, yet it's really competitive, without being ridiculously hard, and it's based on the 1995 season. It is great to drive Adelaide in a Williams and beat the beautiful Schuey Benneton, or Estoril and Aida against other backmarkers as Pierluigie Martini in the Minardi.
Fantastic. I must buy GTR2 though so I can play on-line. Anyone know about this Paris Dakar rally which is supposed to enable 1000 players to race together?
