You think that he might have abused it a little? He says that the car blew white smoke, yet he still keeps driving. That alone would say it's not a real good idea to keep going. He's a real jerk too. Acts like the car is junk, and he had nothing to do with the car running bad. If he drives it like this when he knows there is something bad wrong with it, I wonder what he drove it like before. Methinks he abused the car when he first bought it and now it's in bad shape because of him. You decide.

Ray Good News concerning the Corvette. A new model "The Blue Devil" with a supercharged Z06 7.0 littre V8- HP will be approximately 700 ; and for the enthusiasts complaining about the poor interior - Dave Booth - the
best Auto journalist in Canada says GM is vastly improving the interior. See the picture and article in The National Post. Friday Dec 29th. This new Corvette may very well surpass the performance of any and all of Ferrari's offerings. We will have to wait and see for that to be confirmed once they get to the showroom and are tested. It may be shown at the Detroit Auto Show in January. Very, very interesting!

Your pardon for diverting the thread from the CTS - But I thought you and many others would enjoy this news.

I also hear the Bugatti Veyron is increasing it's horsepower to 1200 since the next E-Class will have a 700 hp engine. I think the horsepower war is getting out of hand?
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

The increase in HP is also due to the cars (and their drivers) getting fatter every year.

If a car is broken you don't keep driving it. That guy looks like a doofus too. I wouldn't buy a GM product in general, but in his case, driving the car longer isn't going to fix anything. He's also not really getting home any faster.

His story reminds me of my 300E shutting off in the fast lane of the freeway (in the middle of traffic), not to mention stalling numerous times at stop lights.

The odd thing is, the LS7 doesn't need a supercharger to make 700hp. A cam and a good set of heads will get you there EASY. But the supercharger probably makes it easier on account of drivability. With a cam and a set of heads, it would be real high rpm power more than grunt. So a supercharger makes sense.

The guy killed that CTS-V. I would be willing to bet a few dollars the car didn't do that all by itself. He complained of the diff being blown out, I bet he didn't break the car in properly. Or had one too many clucth dumps and burnouts on it. GM cars are notorious of 1. being underrated to the tuned of 30-50hp, and 2. they make more power when you break them in properly. But that's probably true of any car really. My truck has an LR4 4.8l and the cam is a roller and .459 lift on I and E. That was racecar stuff for a SB Chevy 7-10 years ago. I bought it used with 18k on the clock and since I've had it, it feeld like it has more power since the day I got it. But that coiuld be the intake and headers I put on it. Still it's fun to take corners way too fast, it helps that I lowered it too. I was going to put some lo pros and big wheels and brakes on it, but someone broke into my house about two weeks ago and stole the wheels. Oh well.
