The 2007 Series looks set to be awesome! A field of 51 cars, 4 Pescarolo's, 2 Customer Peugeots, An Audi Powered Lola and the new Porsche 997 - can't wait for the British round!!

If the LMS isn't the best series in the world this year then I would be stunned. It really is going to be quite fantastic. From what I have heard/read as many as 15 cars had to be turned away. There will only be space for 43 at Velencia but there will be more than 51 at Silverstone, the Nurburgring and Spa.

Why they don't combine LMS and ALMS into one worldwide super-series to rival F1 in popularity is beyond me.

Sure there's a logistics cost there... but one would think that the pros outweigh the cons.

I love ALMS, but the P1 and GT1 fields are so small its silly. P2 and GT2 will be very entertaining and worth watching this year though

Your right about GT1, but P1 might be better this year with the addition of Intersport.

The problem with a worldwide series is that smaller teams struggle with the costs of going across the Atlantic... once (each) a year for Petit Le Mans or Sebring and more importantly Le Mans itself is probably expensive enough!

There isn't a circuit in the world that could handle a combined LMS and ALMS field. Remember the ACO had to turn down about 15 entries for this seasons LMS.
