The worse thing that happened was some traffic jams when the backup systems for the traffic lights exhausted their energy.
Seems lightning hit a substation, a main switch, designed to avoid this kind of things, failed and the national network went out.
I was working at home, as usual, so I did some gardening in the morning, made my lunch, slept my daily "siesta" and when I awake, power was back... No traffic jams for me: my rosebushes are now properly trimmed.
Actually, I thought this was a transformer failure or something that happened only in my neighborhood. I did not think you will notice: talking about globalization and slow news days...
