I've ran against an article. It was saying a electric powered car whose price is lower then a Lambo, can pass it. Also this car is a mass-produced car. So anyone can buy it very easily. Have a look. I liked it very much A strange car indeed. http://www.teslamotors.com
I think that u gain performance because you have
-better mechanical grip due to the weight of the in-wheel motors (25kg each),
-better traction controll on every wheel independently,
-better weight distribution (the motors are in the wheel and that gives posibility to play with the placement of the other components)
