Power/Driveability Differences between Cam Profiles

Post

I am researching the advantages of swapping out my 2.0L cylinder head on my SAAB turbo for a 2.3L head. Aside from the lower compression, which I'm sure will give additional stability to increased boost, the valves are larger. Can anyone give me a "summary for dummies" as to what the benefits of this would be?

Also, the cam profiles in the 2.3L cylinder head are somewhat different to the 2.0L head.

Consider the following cam profiles:

Image

B202i = 2.0 Litre normally aspirated
B202t = 2.0 Litre Turbocharged
B234t = 2.3 Litre Turbocharged

Swapping the B202t cylinder head for a B234t cylinder head (and the cams), what is the effect of the new B234t cam profile?

Also, if the B202t cams were retained and used in the new 2.3 head, what would be the effect of using a B202i cam on the intake side? Is there any truth to the rumour that this will give sharper acceleration?

I suppose I'm asking of these cam profiles, which combination would you use in the new 2.3L head and why? I'm looking for a little more "off the line" low down power and a better flowing head for increased boost pressure.

Your replies will be much appreciated. TIA.
