Pneumatic valves

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Pneumatic valves

Post

Hi guy's just wanna say that i love this site! I've been searching for hours about modern formula1 cars pneumatic valvetrain. I have a fair idea of how it works, but i want to know how it works in F1 cars. I read that they don't use valve springs at all, but i've seen a modern ferrari f1 engine with a valve spring and te pneumatic valve system. Also how do they have a external cyclinder for the compressed air? Can someone please tell me how it really works in a f1 car. Thanks! :)

Welcome to the Forun bantot. Here are a few threads from our Forum index. One on pneumatics, the other on desmo vs pneumatics ( just for spice) and a videoclip ( just because it's interesting) and few links.
