Does anybody know if there are any good sites where I can find out certain company's salary range, info about the company - not the corporate info found on their websites, but rather working conditions, etc. The best I could find were a bunch of sites which either offered no useful info or were pay sites.

I'm primarily interested in German/European companies.

Thanks

The best choice for you would be talking to someone working in the company you want the data.

You might also find the bar where the guys in your field hangout and buy a few rounds
When asking something so specific it might help if YOUR PROFILE INDICATED WHAT CONTINENT YOU LIVE ON

@ Belatti,

Thanks, but that is the issue. I don't know anybody. I was hoping that somebody would know a good forum where I might find the info.

@ Carlos,

Was the Ottawa Senators logo not enough of a hint? You're a Canadian, you should have recognized it. Which brings me to another point - buying a few rounds of drinks is not the problem...the problem would be buying a plane ticket to Europe.

As for the other suggestions, I doubt that the ministry of labour, or the university, will have information that I'm looking for. Like I said, I'm not looking for the official employee headcount, or the net revenues, or share price...I was looking for a forum, that is whether anybody was aware of one, where you get people who vent about their employers. Something like jobvent.com, only for Europe. It is easy to find the positive info about the potential employer, but a little more so when it comes to the negative aspects. This is simply because I'm looking to do a co-op assignment in Europe and I'm trying to gather as much info as possible, so that I can make an informed decision.

But, in any case, I appreciate the help.

@f1.redbbaron. Here is a site with an international employee base for (networking, contacting, brainstorming) - but it's not Jobvent; might be a place to start looking for people or the Jvent type of site. I noticed Jobvent has an international membership, so I sent to JV and asked if they knew of a Euro-Jobvent. There are other sites in N.America that love/hate jobs, all free, join and ask for Euro-Trash/Worship -My Job sites. This site is called
AFPOE - A Fresh Pair Of Eyes: viewtopic.php?t=4876

Your right, I didn't recognise the Logo or name of the team, then I thought they might be a football team, but Goggle identified the Sport as Hockey.
I played on backyard rinks as a kid but since then I've watched 2 Hockey games on television over the last 50years. Read the sports pages? Why? Almost nothing about auto racing in a Canadian newspaper. It's all Hockey.
I'm a foreigner in the country of my birth. Maybe that explains my nick.

Thanks (btwm you have given me a different link, but I've figured it out).

When you do decide to start watching hockey, pick Ottawa. :D

btw, The Globe and Mail has some decent articles about F1 (at least it did until I stopped buying newspaper), but usually on Mondays after the race.

f1.redbaron - Yes, I notice that now; I am very glad I also included the websites name, the INTERNET address , is of course:
http://www.afpoe.com/

Jobvent has replied to my email, their member base is almost completely North American and they did not know of an equivalent European site. Should I begin watching Hockey, I will make sure to offer attention to the Ottawa Senators. I once subscribed to the Globe and Mail, now I read most news on the INTERNET and follow F1 on F1Technical. :D

Yeah, I'll be working for the plant that makes their hockey sticks made of balsa wood - though based on their performance this year, I think that somebody had beaten me to it :D

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.
