Whats an engine CID?

Post

Hey guys
I was going through a webpage which had mentioned how to analyse the best turbocharger for youe engine.

It had a term called engine CID mentioned in it for the calculations.

I couldn't find out what the engine CID was?

Could anyone help me out with this??

To find your engines CID, take the displacement in cc's and multiply by 0.061. That is that one cc=0.061 ci. Or, 1 litre=61 cubic inches.

Example

2,000ccX0.061=122 cid.

Or a 2-litre engine is 122 cid.

Heres a link to a site with various calculators, just scroll down to Auto Math.

Want to do it yourself?

for input in mm.

BxBxSx.7854xC/1000x.061=cid

B=bore, S=Stroke, C=number of cylinders.

Example

89x89x80x.7854x4/1000=1990.765ccx.061=121.437cid

So a 4 cyl with a 89mm bore and a 80mm stroke displaces 1991cc or 121 cid.
