This is extremely unecessary, why start a completely new thread just for this. If you´re coming back you should might as well make sure that your posts are constructive and possibly F1 related. Your return isn´t what I expected it to be.

Give me some credit will you? At least for the sake of all the work I've done over the years for this site and for many forum members for free (including you). Topic title says for who it is so you didn't have to read it at all.

But then, what happens if everyone on this forum starts a topic when PMing someone

First of all, you know that I´m very grateful for everything you once helped me with, including what you have done for this forum. But, the focus is on the present and not related to past experiences. And believe me, I did not create the first post only because of the fact that it was you who created this thread, but I would have done so regardless of who the original poster was. By no means at all did I intend for my post to offend you, but to extend the idea that new threads should not be created just ¨for the heck of it¨. Do you understand where I´m coming from with this? This is not the first time I have made a remark concerning this sort of issue either, as some of our fellow members may recall.

Whether either of us is making too big a deal out of this, IDK.

Tomislavp4 makes a good point though.

Sometimes I often cant see whether I have PM or not, because it is not that obvious that you have one.

I can logon have a pm and not notice.

The PM is obvioualy important so he started this thread.

It isnt harming anyone, and it seems like its urgent.

I've sent and received hundreds of PMs over the years. How many times have you seen me doing this? It was of great importance for me to let them know asap and I don't get why you're making so much fuss about it? It is in off topic chat, I didn't hijack a topic, didn't troll it.

People won't start a topic each time they send PM because that isn't necessary. Neither have I done it up to this urgent occasion and neither would I mind if someone does it when he finds it extremely necessary.

I rely on their friendship and discretion not to start defending me with reasons why it was so urgent for me.

What if for example me or any other former member urgently needed some medication he can't find in his country so he does this? Is it a crime?

Then we will be swamped by messages, but we're not, don't worry.

C'mon, give the old timers some leeway... remember we used to eat raw lead for breakfast, made love indiscriminately in the 60's and breathe pure asbestos before a cigarrete: our neurones are weird, man! :)

Now, allow me to stretch my trousers up to my bellybutton while I assure you and assure mx_tifosi that Manchild has a reason. We won't tell you which one.

I mean, we won't tell you until you are 65... ;)

I didn´t mean to make a fuss or anything similar, nor do I care for the reason of this infamous thread, believe me. Nor does it make a difference whether you´re a young member or an elder. The point is that there is no need to pollute the forum with unecessary threads just to notify fellow members that theres a PM waiting for them. Is it that hard to understand? Besides, when a member makes a reasonable point another member(s) takes care of making a joke out of it. In addition, modbaraban has pointed out the correct procedure for PM notification in this forum. Whether this is the beginning or the end of this thread, I don´t mind defending what I believe....

Thanks, mx_tifosi, next time I need someone to give useless speeches about how to avoid useless speeches, I'll call you. I won't call you when I need someone who's coherent. 8)

The Ghandian epic of mutual fellowship won't reoccur for several epoch Ted. Order reigns over camaraderie ...the pillars are starting to tremble again - so I'll PM sometime, my friend.

modbaraban: I guess you can't know what others have in their profiles, so the forum topic can be your last resort, if it's urgent.

I don't see hundreds of these topics here, so no harm done imho.

Manchild: If you name a topic as "For Ciro and Dave only", you can besure everyone reads it. That's a rule of human curiosity.
