What is a station & ordinate while designing a airfoil?

Post

I am working on a project which invloves making a rear wing. I wanted to find out how to calculate L.E radius for a wing for which i searched on the net and found one calculation which said station and ordiantes were to be plotted in order to get the L.E radius. can anyone tell me what is meant by a Station & Ordinate? Also....there was a NACA airfoil which had some station and ordiantes given from which i calculated station's & ordiantes for my airfoil which was based on NACA 2412 airfoil. So r these given values for NACA airfoil 2412 standard or have they calculated?

Any help would be useful.

Hey buddy i guess i can clear your doubt. While plotting the airfoil on a graph we consider the y-axis as the ordinate and x-axis as the station. And referring to the NACA 2412 airfoil, the digits indicate the specified distances from the leading edge and various other data including the thickness, the point of max camber and etc....hope its cleared...do reply

And also the values which they gave for 2412 are calculated based on our regular geometries and graphical representations...
