1000km of Nurburgring

Post

I've been looking at the official time table of LMS and the one of MotorsTV and neither of those actually have any notice whether the times are in GMT, local time or whatever? I dunno maybe my eyesight fails but I can't see any.

According to the LMS website the 1000km of Nurburgring (RACE) starts at 12:05 (timezone?).

Please clarify if you can, assuming you have other sources to refer to. I need to plan my Sunday in advance, and I hope I'll be at home ontime to watch the race.

Thanx, cheers.

mod, the times on all those sites are Paris timezone, which is the same timezone as the Nurb. (don't remember the name I'm tired it's GMT plus or minus something...)

Motors TV begins coverage at 11h45 here, which means 12h45 at Kyiv if I'm not mistaken. Have a good night and let's hope for a great race tomorrow. ;)

Thank you. That's local time then. GMT +1.

Shame they don't use THE track. :)

Indeed. I think LMPs could whistand it, and it's already proven GTs are perfectly fit to the track, so there must be more likely contractuals problems, or logistics ones. I'm sure the 50 car field would provide a great race on the Nordschleiffe, plus it would be the less traffic-hampered LMS round...

Without surprises, Peugeot showed dominant raw performance in Qualy, with both 908s on the front row. More surprising is the Lola-Aston displaying once again awsome pace to steal third place, relagating R10s to fourth and fifth.

Me too! The Lola Aston was able to match the diesels pace at several key moments in the race, holding the #2 Audi for three or four laps at the start, and the #7 Pug for five laps later on! There's definitly more to come from it.

Overall I was disapointed by Audi, they had brakes problems all week end long (like at Sebring), and sufferd from severe understeer in slow corners.

PSA must be ecstatic after their german campain, Peugeot's one-two at the Nurb being backed by Citroën's one-two in WRC! If the firm isn't happy of that week end, then it never will...

Also, congratulation to Van Merkerstein (sp?), team Modena, and Virgo Motorsport for their respective victories.

Oh, and btw Peugeot reported they will enter two cars at PLM (road Atlanta) in october, with Gene-Minassian-Klien in #7 and Lamy-Sarazin-Wurz in #8! Seems like they learnt from their defeat and are decided to give C. Klien some race mileage. Good call IMO
