Audi R8 GT3 (R16)

Post

Hi,

I just took a closer look at the Audi R16 project, and there seems to be a nozzle or a valve of somekind beneath the right rear braking light.

WARNING: pic resolution is 1920x1200

Are there any of you that might know what this is for, if so, what is its purpose?

regards,

cool pic,

usually thats the connector for the high airpressure,

during a pitstop a mechanic connects it with the highpressure system in the pit and the 3 posts on the bottom of the car will lift the car for changing the tyres and stuff

Yes definitely looks like the onboard air jacks!

Thank you! I knew they use this technique in DTM, but I wasn't aware that they also use it in the GT3-series!

Well, you learn something new everyday, thank you for the replies :D

They also use them in the Aussie V8s but they have the nozzle hooked up to the right back door :!:

How about using the same technique in F1, linking it to the fuel hose. Could stop drivers pulling away too early.
