I was wondering what kind of TV coverage there is in Europe of the events? In the states, we get Friday practice 2, Saturday qualifying, and the Sunday race - all on the speed network (except for the 4 --- fox race broadcasts we had this year). Do European networks carry all practices?
In the U.K. you get Qualifying and the race broadcast on TV. You have to go onto the channels internet page for F1 to get the practice sessions. Even then they're just highlights from practice, about 5 minutes long.
Lucky so and so getting friday practice
"It could be done manually. It would take quite a while, but it could be done. There is however a much more efficient and accurate way of getting the data. Men with lasers." Wing Commander Andy Green
Funnily enough I was reading in the paper only this morning that Coulthard is joining the commentary team next year when TV coverage moves back to the BBC. I guess the pairing of him and his former manager Brundle should make for quite a good team but some of the radio guys are being promoted to TV and I'm not sure how the team is going to pan out. Personally I don't like the BBC's principal radio commentator, a guy called Jonathan Legard, but he's supposed to be moving over in some capacity.
Practises are usually covered on the radio if not TV, and they have this Listen Again thing so you can listen in the evening if, like me, you're at work during the day. Sadly it's Geo IP limited so you can only listen to it in the UK - pesumably an Bernie-imposed rights thing.
