I remember that at the begining of 2008 all the 997 RSR competing in ALMS or LMS GT2 were fitted with the new sequential gearbox, derivated from the RS Spider. But is that the case for all of them (outside LM series)? It says "Six speed sequential gearbox, fully rebuilt by Porsche Motorsport", it would be nice to know if it is the new one.

I think the 997 generation still have a year or two of competitiveness coming, so it might be a good deal to buy it. The new gearbox was an impressive step forward, and the car had nothing to envy to the Ferrari F430 in terms of lap times all year, though the Ferrari still had the edge over tyres management, which is probably the biggest flaw of running a GT2 Porsche. I guess it's down to the typical excessive rear-biased weight repartition of the brand, but we could witness severe tyre blows from some contenders at nearly every track. Tuning this car's suspentions and adjusting tyre's pressure correctly might be more tricky than with any other GT2.

Well, I don't have the finances to even dare dreaming about buying this car (not even thinking of exploiting it), but I'll cheer for anyone who have the balls to try. This is a very credible car to win LM actually, so it's worth taking the bet if the money is there, IMHO.

It should be GT3 RSR if it is in the GT class of ALMS/Le Mans.

We should all donate some our money to this, then we can share the car. Just ship it to me first.

I'll trade my 2001 Toyota Tacoma with only 160,000 miles and a 2008 Aprilia RVX 5.5 with new plastics straight across. Two for one, it's a fair offer!
