Ecclestone also aligned himself with those manufacturers – notably Ferrari, Renault and Toyota – who have heavily criticised the FIA’s decision to introduce expensive KERS energy storage devices at a time of financial overstretch.

“I have always been against KERS,” he said.

“Whatever they use in F1 they won’t use in a road car, but if that is the idea, then why not develop it in touring cars?
I have to say I do agree with what he has said here. I'd like your thoughts please. :)

While identical systems will never be used on road cars - the knowledge gained is invaluable.


I have to assume the car manufacturers are using the information and knowledge gained from F1 testing (and I don't mean track testing) in designing systems for their cars.

That has been the case before, hasn't it? Knowledge transfer, not design transfer.
