Making a 6,000 % return on investment

It is almost unknown how Bernie collected the initial debt to pay for Formula 1's right to profit for 100 years. It was mainly done with the help of the German media market in 2001 which boomed to no end curtesy of Michael Schumacher.

The big question is: Who just got himself a huge profit by cashing in on a 5 mil € investesmenmt. Considering the Credit Swiss involvement it could well be Didi Mateschitz who did a ton of business with them and Peter Sauber before.

but we will probably never know.

Edit: 6,000 % is the right figure. I rectify it here. Not that it makes a big difference how you perceive such windfalls.

Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best .............................. organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

This reminds me of an old joke. "A seller explains to his friend: I buy trinkets at 3 euros, I sell them at 7 euros, and with that difference of 4 percent I can survive."

In Norway long time ago, there was this bank trying to make a profit by offering a higher interest on deposits than on loans.

How?

They were always lending out more money than they accepted in deposits of course.
