Button- Possible '09 F1 Champion without a drive

Post

I've just read a shocking article in F1-Live saying that Button could be out of Brawn next year, to be replaced by Rosberg.

Dang, the world is going crazy.

It seems to be more of a salary dispute and Button wants all the money he "lost" after accepting the pay cut at the beginning of the year. Seems like Mr Button is getting a little bit too greedy here. I believe he should wait till he is crowned WDC before demanding more money.

So Brawn is thinking of getting rid of BOTH Barrichello & Button and replacing them with Rosberg. 2010 Should be interesting, seeing Rosberg hope outta the cars during the pit stops ;)

This rumor has no depth, can you really imagine Brawn awarding the drivers who have made his first year so successful with no drive for 2010. If Button wanted his pay cut to be paid back then I think Brawn have the money to do so now and I wouldnt be suprised if he gets it back.

B & B have been with that team for many years, they wouldnt just leave on something like this, and I doubt Brawn would want either of them to leave, Rosberg is just an option i think.

It wouldn't be the first time that a WDC winner would have found themselves without a drive at the end of the season : Look at what happened to almost all of the Williams champions ...

What did Briatore say at the beginning of the season?

"With the DDD's, the races are dominated by a paracarro (milepost) and a pensioneer", something like that.

Rosberg doesn't want to be in the same team as Lewis. He's been there and done that in his Dad's (Keke's) team, and Lewis spanked him.

Being at McLaren and getting beaten could end or shorten his career. He's German-ish and if Brawn becomes Von-Brawn-Mercedes at the end of the season he will fit right in.

Button's 'stock' isn't that high, even if he wins the WDC, he isn't going to be on the teams owners list of must have #1 drivers. Button has a history of being beaten by 'journey-man' team mates, rather than putting them firmly in their place, to be considered a 'top driver'.

Not to mention Button's habit of changing his mind about contractual obligations : I'm not sure how many team owners would trust a contract with his name on it.

He lost to Ralf in his first year, but better as the season progressed and arguably against a Ralf on top form, then he's only lost to Fizzy in 2001 in less than great circumstances. Other than he beat Jarno in 2002, former champion in 03, Sato in 04 and 05, Rubens in 06 and 07 then lost to Rubens last year.

Trulli was certainly the better qualifier but he lost out when it came to races.

He pretty much ended Jacques career, Sato was considered as quick, but again when it came to races Jenson just blew him away. Rubens, again same story. Is arguably as quick, if not quicker over a single lap but once again on the most part in races Jenson is generally quicker.

gridwalker. habit of changing his mind?

It happened once. It doesnt make it a habit does it?

Renault have a habit of cheating.

Lewis has a habit of crashing on the final lap.

See where I am coming from?

Actually, it happened twice. Firstly, Button announced in 2004 that he would switch to Williams for 2005, prompting a major court battle over his services because he was already contracted to BAR. Although BAR won the court battle, Button then announced that he would drive for Williams in 2006, but backed out of that contract when BMW withdrew from their Williams partnership.

It is said that BAR paid a significant amount to Williams to get Button out of his contract, which would explain his ongoing loyalty to the team through their barren years : he sold his soul for that race seat & I certainly wouldn't hire him after that fiasco.
