I don't know how they do it. But is an engine a 10 place drop? would they just add the 3 place penalty to that? Or..convert the 3 place penalty to a 5 second penalty.
Anyhow it should be interesting if Max really cannot overtaking with a brand new engine.
And i dont think there will be many safety cars in this race. athe drivers will know the tyres will last forever and they can take their time a circulate while keeping the following car behind.
It depends how many things they replace as to what the penalty is.

Completely agree on safety cars and flags. I think everyone is a little more careful on Sundays compared to Friday and Saturday, first lap aside. Who would have thought none in Monaco and Zandvoort?!

Nah. Gasly is fine, Tsunoda has work to do, but it is Aplha Tauri producing a great car that gets it up to the podium places!

So Max & RedBull find a neat way to avoid serving a penalty for ramming Lewis in previous race.
I don't think Red Bull want to be mid pack with a high possibility of being taken out of the race especially if it rains so it is still a risky and brave decision to take the engine penalty it this weekend.

Are you complaining about tactics that are available to all teams?

The engine penalty he got because Lewis destroyed his other engine you mean? ;)

I'd definitely rather start 20th than 13th, weirdly. Especially in a car which is well capable of getting through 3/4 of the field. I don't think from 13th you'd make up many more places, assuming a race without any crazy goings on, and you have far less of a risk of getting caught up in anything.

I’m not sure how Leclerc gets a pass for not being called a wrecking ball.

Totally agree on that. Just go long on first stint and adjust strategy depending on how the race goes. Or do a Rosberg and win with a long stint on hard lol

FP2: Anyone know if the HAM v. Jackman incident was because 1) magic was left on or 2) magic accidentally activated?

Exactly- or even switch early to a softer tyre if it's hard going getting through the field and undercut several cars that way. Lots of options

I’ll give it go but you will have to explain (exactly) what happened. I’ll be working blind!
For instance, who the ‘eck is Jackman?

I think he said "magic was still on", but haven't had a chance to listen back to the radio yet...

Just the ICE is 10 places, but he took everything new so a lot more places.

The SC chance is quite high to be honest and it seems the weather forecast might have played a role as well. We will see... I expected them to take the penalty at COTA because it's easier to overtake there.
