Poor qualy and start from Hamilton, still wins the race because Mercedes is so fast.
Lol, more like skill and determination under pressure.

No, it's pure luck. https://i.imgur.com/fjuJVpW.gif
He listened to his team when he should have, which is exactly what Lando didn't do.

The first one without Putin congratulate the drivers right after the finish?

If you've got f1tv pro go and watch leclerc/alondo/perez battle just after rain starts to fall. No one wants to pit and they overtake each other time and time again probably 10 times in span of 2-3 laps. Most epic stuff I've seen probably since brazil 2012.
Is that how they all lost out to Max? I'm still a bit confused how he got into P2.

Ah, so they all stayed out a lap or two too long for fear of losing a position or two, and ended up losing out big time? All gambling on the rain not getting heavier I suppose.

Exactly the same as poor Lando’s predicament. Both Hamilton and Verstappen were in the handy position of being able to take a gamble and have nothing to lose but a lot to gain on the lap(s) they came in.

Honestly, I'm hoping for more straightforward weekends. We've had a lot of random rainy weekend so far this year, it seems like far more than normal!

I could be wrong but Norris could have come in the lap later when it was clear he was losing time and didn’t.

I hope you are not being serious. Who needs straightforward boring races? We need CHAOS. We also need to see both championship rivals losing out and more people winning races! What is wrong with you people? Losing bets because of unpredictable results?

I was wrong about the tires however, they managed to make the mediums last longer than I anticipated. I also had no idea it was going to rain at the end, or I would have said something, or would I.

Just saw some onboards from Max ... Sainz went off track when both were on slicks and then they all stayed out one more lap and he just drove past them. Really good call, got the inters on the perfect lap.

The good point is that the McLaren is fast enough to qualify and race at the front on merit. =D> =D>

I can only think of thats the case that they realised as soon as Hamilton put a few seconds on him in less than a lap they realised the win was gone if they followed suit, so rolled the dice on staying out. If they were going for championship points above the race win then I’m sure they’d have called him in.

For Hamilton it was always going to be second place at worst (with priority on the WDC) so it was a much more straightforward decision to be risk averse.

What a magnificent race from Max Verstappen. 2. finish from the last grid position. Super Max!
It luck not super. :D
How is that lucky that you receive a grid penalty because another driver destroyed your engine?
I meant Rain :D else he would be in p7
