Its as I feared. Ferrari's PU update was substantial. We would be lucky to get third now.
Agreed.
Considering that Mclaren haven’t enjoyed any luck this season I think we should settle for P4🤦🏼‍♂️
Just a fan's point of view

It's still a long championship to go. Turkey is a GP that doesn't suit Mclaren(the car can't follow the Alpha Tauri and loses ground from the Aston Martin) while Ferrari seem to be going well here. Let's compare the cars once we get on a GP that's on even footing.

It's not the engine. The track doesn't suit Mclaren at all. Let's see what happens on a track that suits Mclaren.
No, there's nothing wrong with our engine. The problem is the car is so --- inconsistent. Ferrari has had one bad race this whole year (in terms of pace, not results). That was France, and they fixed their problem before they got to the next event.

Meanwhile out of the last 4 races, we have had race winning pace in 2 of them, and Haas levels of pace in the other 2.This huge fluctuation is horrible. It makes it difficult to score points because you have to capitalize on tracks that work with your car. If some random sh*t happens like in Russia, and you miss your chance. You are screwed, because Ferrari never fluctuates this much. Both in Monza and Russia, Ferrari had maximum damage limitation because they were never that far off. Meanwhile McLaren goes from being Mercedes of the midfield in one race to being --- Mazepin in the next.

Just infuriating.

I was wrong. I think Charles can win the race without pit.

Aren't you obliged to stop at least once?

What kind of BS rule is that? Why are you obliged to stop at least once in the dry and not in the wet?

Because you need to use 2 compounds in a dry race. There's no rule stating you must pit.

In a dry race it’s you have to use 2 different tyre compounds. In a wet race that is not required.
