It was my mistake. The Kamikaze was on Daniel. Bottas was the one who hit Lando.

Stroll torpedoed, Leclerc who hit Dan from memory at Hungary. Bloody spewing about Mexico for Dan, so close to being the hero and then Bottas the mobile chicane chops him. Anyone else and Dan probably gets through unscathed and brings home a bag of points. Get in the bin Bottas. Ptou you Bastard!!

Seemed like a racing incident to me. Daniel was a bit optimistic and could have braked a little more, I think he was worried about his speed through the first corner and whether he'd get subsequently mugged on exit of the corner by everyone he overtook. Bottas was also a little careless on how he took turn 1, given that noses will be all over the place at that point looking for space To aggressively move over the apex like that leaves you open to an incident.

It was disappointing, DR went from Hero to Zero. But 2 months ago he couldn't even get into a position close to that so it is all moving forward nicely if you look past that incident.

What I mean is that Daniel implied in his post-race interview that due to the hit with Bottas, he lost a lot of downforce and this is the reason for the poor race pace. This is what I mean by excuses. Neither Daniel, with no other driver in front of him, nor Lando had pace yesterday. Fighting to win in Sochi to have worse pace than Alpine or Alfa Romeo is something that the team has to analyze and find the key for next year.
So you expect him to be faster than those cars even with the damage?

You expect the impossible and state the obvious. Of course McLaren are going to be analysing every bit of data they can. Of course they're not happy with that performance.

Sometimes if feels like posters on here think the team is run by rank amateurs!!
What's to analyze? In the middle of a triple header with 4 races to go with this aero. Plus there just wasn't any passing in the midfield. It all happened at the back. Pretty sure passing is next to impossible in Mexico.

Interesting post race interview from Bottas where he said himself and Dan were both compromised into T1. Not really all that angry at Dan so again more of a racing incident than anything.

Bottas should be angry at himself for being so timid into the first corner, he braked notably earlier that those around him.

Woot! I got an invite to attend a meet-up with Andrew Jarvis from McLaren in 2 weeks!

This session has now been published on YouTube - I reckon that even if you have no idea what “SRE” is, you’ll find the insights into how Mclaren look at driver data to improve performance really interesting.

Yep, Lewis said he left the door open.
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Looks like he was trying to find space and not compromise Lewis at that point and falling in behind so Lewis didn't lose any more than he had to, to Max. Otherwise they'd both not be taking optimal lines around turn 1 and 2. He just didn't pay attention to the space he was dropping into.

I don't believe Bottas left space intentionally for Max, I think he just wasn't smart.

Oof, 1/3rd of the only training before parc ferme gone and very little running from McLarens... I hope they nail the setup in the 40mins they have left.
edit: laps completed did not look that bad, maybe I am mistaken
