Better for track limits to raise kerbs.siskue2005 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 21:34The curbs looks alot higher and dangerous than the f1 2021 games version
Best would be to have the walls along the edge of the track. No run off areas to cheat on, no kerbs to launch the cars. Any issues and the car runs along the wall.politburo wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 22:02Better for track limits to raise kerbs.siskue2005 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 21:34The curbs looks alot higher and dangerous than the f1 2021 games version
Would be nice but also dangerous. That T6-7-8 section is quite fast and a significant change in direction. Perhaps why there is so much runoff. Someone will lose it there tomorrow I suspect.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑02 Dec 2021, 23:09Best would be to have the walls along the edge of the track. Possibly thinking they can qualify well and then it looks hard to overtake so they will be able to defend?politburo wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 10:27If the teams go for lower DF like Baku they will really struggle for tire wear in the race especially in the T4 to T8 section. Ferrari did this in Baku and struggled massively in the race, basically just driving backwards. Surprised they are going for it again here.
They’ll surely get slaughtered on the straights as soon as the tyres drop off. Anyone with tyres in better condition following will get DRS to be right up with them going into the last corner and then a load more grip coming out of it before getting DRS again on the start finish straight.pb6797 wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 11:03Possibly thinking they can qualify well and then it looks hard to overtake so they will be able to defend?politburo wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 10:27If the teams go for lower DF like Baku they will really struggle for tire wear in the race especially in the T4 to T8 section. Did you watch Qatar? Nothing about this track says Lewis accepting a P2 behind Max.ringo wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 08:05The corners look tight from the safety car. This track looks like the redbull may make a lot of time in the esses.
I can see them flying through those where no one else can follow. Could be one of those weekends where Lewis just has to shrug his shoulders and accept a P-2.
I don't think the track is narrow though, the camera is just high on the car, given the impression its narrow.
More likely the other way around! Which gives us a ‘winner takes all’ for Abu Dhabi. I am reminded of 2009….SiLo wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 11:25Did you watch Qatar? Yes, realistically Merc will win both races, maybe even a 1-2, if there is no drama.Stu wrote: ↑03 Dec 2021, 11:45More likely the other way around! Which gives us a ‘winner takes all’ for Abu Dhabi. Same teams, but the momentum is with Mercedes now (and Red Bull are genuinely on the back foot). Although in 2009 Brawn were able to take the driver’s crown….
