Scuderia Ferrari F1-75 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

I like their unpredictability in naming scheme. At least it becomes memorable. For example... Out of head. Do you remember dog car from Ferrari for 2014? yea, F14T. But can you name quickly the Mercedes car from same year? Or from 2017? It is much easier to name previous Ferrari cars than cars that have a pattern generic name.

No, I don't remember, and I doubt even the core SF fans could.

Yes, at least you have a formula: 2010 = W01, 2011 = W02, 2012 = W03, 2013 = W04, 2014 = W05...
PREFIX + AbsoluteValue of (Initial Car Year - Target Car Year) + 1 = (2010 - 2014) + 1 = 4 + 1 = W05

:P

Ex: For 2017: W + (2010 - 2017) + 1 = W + 7 + 1 = W8 (add zero in between for less than < 10) = W08

I believe the same formula works for most of the cars.

The W0 nomenclature is far easier to remember, much like RBXX and MP4-XX.

I’ve enjoyed the funny memes, but the idea that people actually care about the name this much is absurd lmao. Who cares?

If it wins, we’re golden.

Also, we risk being off topic here. I joked that it had a name in this thread so it was updated. None of this is about the car. Or does the name count as car speculation?

Every year since 2014 I hope for the 166TH… but no, they throw the naming into some focus group 😂

Going even further back it would have been called the 266!!

hi guys,

news from Leo Turrini: Pu on par with the best in class; there are doubts about the exotic aerodynamic choices.

But there are veiled (?) perplexities about the "innovative" (they say) solutions adopted for aerodynamics.
A lot of caution, it being understood that if at the first GP you are half a second ahead of RB and Mercedes, bye bye mom.
What does Turrini mean? If you are ahead of those two teams, you can win titles? Or being faster = ban innovative decisions?

It means he actually doesn't know where performance stands. Introduces uncertainty with "some people are perplexed with the new aero stuff", and then says "but then again if they'll win it's not a problem".

Also Turrini was the same that said that SF-70H was a bad car despite being clearly the best chassis.
