Scuderia Ferrari F1-75 speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yeah they hid a “nice photoshop” message on the steering wheel dash

Binotto saying these cars are faster in high speed corners than last years cars. But slower in the slower corners.. interesting 🤔😏
Well, the cars are heavier, so it's not surprising that they are slower in the slower corners.
And have very simplified suspension. So they'll probably be very lazy in mid corner rotation. Initial rotation might not be too bad with new tyres. This would also make sense in context with Norris' statement not too long ago that new cars are just not as nice to drive. Nothing is worse for a driver than a heavy and unresponsive car.

Thats probably a very relative statement, because F1 cars are ridiculously responsive compared to pretty much any other racing vehicle.

The drivers have been "spoiled" with crazy amounts of front-end grip, so even a small step down from that will feel bad for them.

I suspect tracks like Monaco will be quite a bit slower than last gen cars due to that, but they should be fine on peak downforce.

There were early rumors claiming RedBull was already close to their 2021 level of performance, and the general vibe from Ferrari this off-season hints towards them having a pretty nice package too.

An interesting excerpt from a recent Sainz interview, courtesy of the legendary Tami on twitter of course.

I can just about recall Scheckter being champ in 1979, the dry spell after that lasted 21 years (they got close sometimes, but never quite made it) until 2000 (with Schumacher), 2007 is now 14 years ago (they got close sometimes, but never quite made it).

Whether it is a winner or not, innovative is good!

The whole article written around unfounded rumour from Turrini..
“But some veiled doubts remain about certain innovative solutions in the field of aerodynamics,” Turrini wrote.
Let's add some drama...

“It should be understood that, if at the first race of the season Ferrari are half a second behind Red Bull and Mercedes, the dream of a title race is over.”

This sentence alone should show us that it's more of an opinion of himself. Seems like for Leo Turrini even one of the biggest regulation changes in the history of F1 will not be a possibility for Mercedes and RedBull to lose out. They'll dominate for ever.

As for the alleged doubts of aerodynamicists, how can they even have doubts without knowing any detail regarding performance or design path of other teams or whatsoever?

Anyway, I've never read some optimistic stuff from him. So it does not surprise me anyway.

Given the cars shown thus far, I'm wondering just how far Ferrari is going to attempt to push things.

I think both Aston and McLaren have some pretty nice solutions to regs put in place for this year. Much more radical than I thought would appear.

Guess we'll find out soon enough.

Maybe they can build Ferrari with long sidepod intakes like 1990!

Tbh I had been wondering whether a tall, but narrow radiator inlet would be good on these cars. Bring it on Ferrari!! Let’s see another interesting interpretation, these cars will be all about the details.

McLaren is basic car, lack of undercat, lack of inovations, no big deal. Aston is different story, even Haas are far more radical then Mclaren.

Aston Martin F1 car is just too much bloated. Lets hope mercedes car is also not so chunky. it will be a disaster!
