Nice angle on the floor waves
Can't remember who said it but yeah the vanes under the floor look like shark teeth
When was the last time a driver was able to see the tip of the nose ? or endplates for that matter.PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 15:37The nose won't block your vision but the fact that you can't see the tip of the nose is the challenge. I guess the drivers have the big endplates to at least see their opponents front wings, though I doubt if they can see their own end-plates at all.
I'm pretty sure one of the Merc aerodynamics team would've noticed during development. So, it's probably you.MercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:01Is it me, or does the Merc look too long for ground effects to work properly?
Wheelbase.. the car overall just looks too longsiskue2005 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:09What is too long for ground effect ?MercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:01Is it me, or does the Merc look too long for ground effects to work properly?

Surely I can't be the only one to see it?
Aren't they limited to maximum length this time? Also you're eyes may be decieved by the fact that the bodywork is so skinny. I'm sure the Ferrari isn't that far off from the overall lengthMercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:15Wheelbase.. the car overall just looks too longsiskue2005 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:09What is too long for ground effect ?MercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:01Is it me, or does the Merc look too long for ground effects to work properly?
What complexity? If anything, this isn’t as aggressive as AM or especially Ferrari.
Hi, As a total newbie, and a non aero expert, I need to ask you to elaborate so I can understand.AeroDynamic wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:10Nice angle on the floor waves

The front wing flap profiles, the floor, the rear wing, the packaging. lol.
We're describing the angle of the image to look at the detail of the floor. I'm a newbie tooNicoS wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:20Hi, As a total newbie, and a non aero expert, I need to ask you to elaborate so I can understand.AeroDynamic wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:10Nice angle on the floor waves

The "nice angle on the floor waves" that you refer to: what do you mean by nice, in relation to what function?
What would be a "not" nice angle?
I would really appreciate if you can offer me some more insight regarding your observation.
A longer car will work better with ground effect than a short one. There is a reason the original Lotus 78 had it's wheelbase extended a lot.MercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:15Wheelbase.. the car overall just looks too longsiskue2005 wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:09What is too long for ground effect ?MercAMGF1Fans wrote: ↑18 Feb 2022, 16:01Is it me, or does the Merc look too long for ground effects to work properly?
You can see the vortex being shed from the front entrance to the tunnel on the both sides of the car, looks like it runs all the way along the floor to the rear tyre.
