So Merc, Mclaren, RBR, AT, Williams, and likely Renault all going in a similar direction vs Ferrari, Haas, Aston, Alfa going in the other.

I am not some tech guy but does anyone else feel that the Aston front end is going to leave them dead last? How is that front wing so high?

Can't wait for Barcelona to see who's concept is right

I think that you'll have to wait quite a while longer to discover who's concept was right, maybe until the end of the season.....

Having seen the Merc, AT, Mclaren, and what appears to he RedBull converging on a similarish design, it does leave me a little worried for Ferrari.

Who knows, they may actually have hit on something clever. Too soon to tell until they start testing.

I agree. That’s based on nothing but going with the crowd.

With the exception of Aston, seems the Ferrari engine teams went one direction while the Merc/Renault team went another. Single turbo vs split turbo casing. I imagine they each implemented the best solution they could based on space available.

I think we wont know till at least the 2nd true race. 1st race will still be a feeler race for the top teams. Still keeping some stuff in their pockets.

I'm not sure, the fans crowd or the teams crowd!

There certainly seem to be different schools of thought between the teams who redesigned their cars less (at least the sidepod layout), and those with radically different sidepod designs.

If the renders are true, Mercedes haven't pushed their radiator inlets forward, unlike everyone else with conventional sidepods, which is kind of strange. Edit - Nevermind that's because the inlets on the render were completely fake. The real inlets are indeed particularly pushed forward as far as allowed with flat faces.

The more I look at these cars, the more HAAS becomes my Dark Horse pick for 2022. To me, it has everything from ultra tight, lots of floor, to hidden components to come. I mean, if it is anything like the W13 render->real difference, we might just all get floored by the time sheets.

They’ve been working on this car solely since 2020 so I hope they jump up the times a bit.
