Plus 60 laps including aero rake testing. Not ideal but as you said, not all was lost plus hopefully a few gremlins caught.

"Checo got up to speed pretty quickly this morning and his feedback is pretty much the same as Max’s, which means we know where we are going and everything is fairly settled," Guillaume Rocquelin, Red Bull's head of Race Engineering stressed in a press release.
"Every time the car comes back to the garage we’re making changes and fine-tuning the direction so, all in all, I’m happy."

Red Bull not worried about problem

Not everything was with the Austrians, however. "We had a small issue  today, which meant we lost around half a day’s running but we aren’t particularly worried about the problem itself, it is just a pain that we lost that time. However, it shouldn’t affect things in the long-term, as we have a solid platform and we’re happy with the progress we’re making."

Anyone worried that the RB18 isn't as good as everyone might have expected?

Mark seems very vocal about other teams, McLaren in particular, as well as talking about rule changes needed.

Surely if the RB18 was where the team wants it to be he wouldn't be saying these things.

An interesting development race in store if so!!
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Why worried?
I am worried that Merc and RedBull got it right, not the other way round. Especially if Merc with the strong engine is not completely wrong in the concept they will be ahead of the customer teams. RedBull is a miracle....
It would be much better for this season if Merc and RedBull are in the second row and catch up McLaren and Ferrari. In the end they are the better teams, so everything else is just boring.

I think Newey will have pulled it out the bag with the designs. One of the best aero designers on the grid...if not THE best. Be interesting to see how Q3 pans out in Bahrain, when we see the real performance of the cars.
Mess with the Bull - you get the horns.

I forgot he designed it singlehandedly. Genuinely feel sorry for every other member of the design team at Red Bull. If Merc do well it's down to their whole team, if Red Bull do well it's all Newey's work 🤦🏻‍♂️

I read your post the same way as adrianjordan, I mean come on you started it off with the following.

You didn't say Red Bull, Red Bull engineers, Red Bull aerodynamicists, or any other term that's suggested a group of people, you specifically called out one person to receive all the credit!

Max has signed a mega contract with RBR, never seen before in F1. To be announced this week by RBR.
Was already announced last night on the Verstappen site and in the newspaper this morning.

"Megadeal: Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing agree on new super contract.

World champion is expected to sign for four or five years. Sources in England speak of biggest deal in F1 history; ± 50 million per year.
Megadeal for Max. Formula 1 driver highest earning Dutch athlete of all time. "
