Second drs is shorter and it becomes extremely difficult to overtake if the leading driver chooses inside line. Max was overtaken because he had to compromise his line into turn 1-2, if Max stayed behind Lec, Lec would keep ideal line thorough 1-2 and becomes extremely difficult to overtake him. Max took his chances when he could, because Ferrari clearly had more pace.

I hope you understand it better now.
Lol i understand how racing works thanks. But you dont try the same thing 3 or 4 times in a row and expect a different result.
It was twice, I believe, that is the least a driver should be allowed to try, don't you think?

Still open for development until Sept 22 though
What are you talking about? That has nothing to do with how many components you can use.
Still used one if they were the issue, but the book is still open for development of those areas. Not hard to understand really.
And in race 2 they will have used 2 when everyone else is still on #1. Hence my ‘penalties later’ point. It seems it’s you who hasn’t understood sorry to say.

All those Youtube experts that made McLaren contenders...
I'm more amazed by experts who said race will be decided by reliability.
This didn’t aged well 😁

So verdict on the racing or still to early to call it a success? Im not sure that last years cars wouldn’t have produced the same spectacle personally.

No, unfortunately some have been dragged down to a lower level by a certain group.
Your choice to uphold the standard or not. Don’t let this forum go down in a tit for tat. Rise above it.
Lol at the statement, "rise above it"
More like "its our time to brood so please dont make fun of us"
Not a Max or RB fan so no. Now if you’re talking MCL then yes 😂 what a horrible race. Fingers crossed they can get to Barcelona test performance levels soon

If RedBull has the performance, it shouldn't be a problem taking penalties, like Mercedes did last season, as subsequent penalties get less harsh. Performance is key, and if Honda PU is on par/better than Ferrari, they'll be able to work it out. In fact so early in the season, it might even allow them to plan it better, not the end of the world for them.

Edit: just replying to you in general, unrelated to what you and the other poster were discussing.

Not much has changed really. Granted still only 1st race, but we still had huge gaps and 1/3 the field lapped with 15-20 laps to go.

Bit of a procession still. Certainly nothing worth sticking it on repeat for.

Well a reliability improvement is often a performance improvement. So it’s challenging and political.
I would think so, although I don't know how the rules are written. Changing a part means changing either its material or shape, and I'm not sure how you'd separate those changes from affecting some other parameter beyond fatigue or heat dissipation, or whatever reliability is measured by.

Max was gaining up to 8 tenths with DRS on the main straight, so if he sat in and was 4 tenths behind on the exit of turn 1, he would have had a great chance to pass.

Charles outsmarted Max, thats a fact fella.
Difficult to say but he held his own & didn’t panic when Verstappen pushed him. [...]

I would be very happy to see Leclerc being the 1st Ferrari champion since 2007. [...]

Fuel pump issues related to E10 when the car is low on fuel?
Wasn’t that being posited as a possibility during testing?

It 3 times the exact same move, leclerc could just hang wide, cut across and get better acceleration through turn 2 and 3 and repass easily.
