Without an iota of doubt, it's Fernando Alonso! Unless, we are talking about a driver that possesses fastest machinery.

Charles and max have completely different driving styles thats for sure. Charles almost always carries a bit of throttle where max lifts completely. Charles likes to brush the brake with a smaller lift in some turns where max uses a bigger lift with no brake.dialtone wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:07https://i.postimg.cc/c0gk8YyT/LEC-VER.png
Top 2 telemetry and big surprise: top speed is basically the same, but Ferrari has much better traction, maybe even slightly more powerful engine. I wasn't expecting to see better speed after the last few days.
Let´s be honest, he should have been a lot closer, at least. He just couldn´t a lap together.
He may very well be. If I had to guess so, I would pick him eventhough I don´t particularly support him
He wasn't faster than Lewis when Lewis was a rookie . See, we can all go with this nonsense forever. If you want to compare drivers from different teams that go watch spec racing.
It appears that RB18 is fast but less sorted as it still has loads of understeer which forces the driver to take turns slightly slower and a lot of hustle to get the optimum performance whereas Ferrari appears far more sorted and smooth. If driven with a bit more compromise like Perez is doing, it produces similarly close performance to what Verstappen is extracting with a most aggressive driving. It's overweight also adds to the woes. RB17B had the same traits of understeer. It's less of a headache though in races and key is to look after the tyres to have them when need comes to relentless push.Juzh wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:30If you look at Perez' trace it's 100% clear red bull is almost completely out of energy exiting final corner. They are 10 kmh slower over the line ending the lap compared to starting it. DRS zone removal was a double whammy for them.dialtone wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:07https://i.postimg.cc/c0gk8YyT/LEC-VER.png

Been saying it since bahrain. Once red bull has to put on some more downforce it'll become clear ferrari has the most outright power of any engine.Ferrari has much better traction, maybe even slightly more powerful engine.

@dialtone if RB and FER have the same top speed now(well RB still have 4 or 5 km/h at the 310 ish places), what do you think happened? Have RB increased their DF/drag or has Ferrari decreased their DF/drag?He may very well be. If I had to guess so, I would pick him eventhough I don´t particularly support him
@xaero , no need to mock Alonso this time around. He likely isn´t among the fastests right now, also due to his age, but he was doing a very good job up untill his car fail
normally it should be worse for Ferrari, as they were on a higher downforce setup.chrisc90 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 11:08Artur Craft wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:52Let´s be honest, he should have been a lot closer, at least. He just couldn´t a lap together.

Removal of that back DRS zone probably hurting the Bulls a few tenths.
Ferrari brought a new diffuser to Aus, so perhaps they now have more rear DF from the floor so they can use a slimmer wing for the same over DF with less dragArtur Craft wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:52Let´s be honest, he should have been a lot closer, at least. He just couldn´t a lap together.

But strangely it isn't, even with less drag/downforce red bull gains a lot more top speed with drs open compared to ferrari (and other teams as well apart from maybe alpine, but they're running very low wings this race). I'm sure there's an explanation somewhere in how rear wing flaps are set up on both cars.search wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 11:19normally it should be worse for Ferrari, as they were on a higher downforce setup.chrisc90 wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 11:08Artur Craft wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022, 10:52
